PRIVACY
How this site uses context.
This page describes the Palace Beacon website, its first-visit demonstration and the test-mode developer console. It does not describe a future production publisher or advertiser service.
In your browser
The demonstration uses available browser information such as device and display characteristics, language, time zone, local time, input and motion preferences, connection and rendering capabilities, and the referring website’s host. It uses these signals in page memory to adapt the experience. Browser signals are not posted to our server.
Request context and weather
When available, our delivery service supplies approximate location and network, connection and protocol information to the site. For an available location, the service may request current weather using coordinates rounded to a 0.1-degree grid: from the National Weather Service in the United States, and from MET Norway (api.met.no, CC BY 4.0) elsewhere. The request does not include your IP address or browser fingerprint. Forecast results are held temporarily in server memory, generally for 15 minutes; failed lookups are cached for 60 seconds.
What you type into the demo apps
The Airline, Checkup and Tutor apps on the home page send what you type to Jev, TypeSafe’s classifier, through Palace Well, our AI infrastructure, to estimate which interests it expresses. The request carries your text, the app name and a random token that exists only while the page is open; it does not carry your IP address, location or device details. Palace Well keeps the request and its result with its job records. Interests you keep stay in the page’s memory and disappear when you close or reload it. Please do not type anything you would not want processed this way.
Storage and delivery
The demonstration does not introduce a visitor identifier, cookie or analytics beacon. Its context service does not return or retain the visitor’s raw IP address. Cloudflare processes the visitor IP address for delivery and approximate location; the National Weather Service and MET Norway handle forecast requests under their own practices. To count return visits, the page keeps a visit number and the date of your last visit in this browser’s local storage; it is never sent to us. This description does not assert that those providers or other delivery infrastructure never process or retain request information.
Developer console and test placements
The developer console has no account. It creates a random owner token that stays in your browser’s storage; our server keeps only a SHA-256 hash of it, with the website names and addresses, placement names and test campaigns you enter. When a page with a test placement loads Beacon, the server records the event type (configuration loaded, rendered, impression or click), the page’s origin (scheme and host only, not the full address), the time and which ad was chosen. It keeps the latest 200 events and decisions per placement, daily counts for 90 days, and the latest 500 simulated ledger entries per workspace. It does not record the visitor’s IP address, the page path or any cookie. Page interests a publisher passes to Beacon are used to choose the ad and are not stored.
